Sometimes even the best resume or the most outstanding qualifications can be completely negated by a bad interview. No matter what your profession, the interpersonal skills needed to ace the all-important interview can make or break your future career path. Why take chances in this increasingly competitive environment? If you are job hunting or interviewing for colleges, the ability to present yourself in the very best light is crucial. Don't sabotage your own future by NOT having the tools to master what is often the make-or-break step in the interview process.
Our four-hour seminar includes the following:
- What to expect: what questions can you expect to encounter, and how can you be ready for them?
- The trick questions: some questions are actually designed to trip you up. How can you be ready to give answers that employers are looking for?
- Tough questions: everyone has previous work issues which, on the surface, may work against them. How can you turn these into positives?
- Questions to ask: what questions should YOU be asking of future employers? Remember, you are trying to learn about them, too!
- Visual skills: are you really looking your best? Are you sure? We will analyze appearance skills to ensure that your personal style doesn't accidentally clash with what may be your new corporate culture.
- Vocal skills: almost everyone has vocal tics that have become so ingrained in their speech that they don't notice them anymore. How can you get rid of the "like"'s and "y'know"'s without sounding self conscious?
- How much is too much? Knowing when to stop talking!
- How much is too little? Have you really given them enough information?
- What makes you different? Ways to present yourself honestly, but effectively, and to present your own accomplishments without stretching the truth or coming across as arrogant or bragging.
Liz Reeder has coached hundreds of job applicants and actors on interview technique for one-on-one interviews, group interviews (facing a panel), and television appearances.
